Adoptions
In Ontario, a relative can adopt a child without having to obtain a homestudy or being approved by the Minister of Children and Youth Services as an appropriate parent. We can assist clients in completing an Application for a step-parent adoption or other relative adoption in Ontario.
We will assist you with the completion of all the necessary court forms, work with you in obtaining all the necessary consents to the adoption and finalize the formal adoption with the Court. We can further assist you in changing the name of the adopted child and the registration of their new name with the Registrar General of Ontario.
