Theresa Wilhelm is an experienced family and estate lawyer dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate life’s major transitions with clarity, compassion, and respect. With two decades of legal experience, she provides trusted guidance in family law, collaborative family law, and wills and estates.

Theresa began her legal career in the Region of Waterloo before founding Wilhelm Family Law in 2015, when she and her husband relocated to Lucan, Ontario to raise their young family closer to home. Since 2010, Theresa has focused on collaborative family law, working closely with other collaborative professionals to help separating couples resolve parenting, property, and financial issues outside of court. She believes deeply in the value of this cooperative, forward-focused process, which promotes understanding and stability for all family members.

In addition to her family law practice, Theresa assists clients with estate planning and estate administration, helping them prepare wills and powers of attorney, and guiding families through the legal steps following a loved one’s passing. Her clients appreciate her calm, empathetic approach, practical advice, and genuine commitment to achieving fair, lasting outcomes.

Rooted in her small-town Southwestern Ontario upbringing, Theresa values integrity, community, and connection. Outside her practice, she enjoys reading, attending the theatre, and spending time with her husband and two children.


kathryn gilbert, barrister & solicitor

Kathryn Gilbert is a family and estate lawyer at Wilhelm Family Law, where she helps clients navigate separation, divorce, and estate planning with empathy, honesty, and practical guidance. Her practice focuses on family law, collaborative family law, and wills and estates, allowing her to support families through both transition and planning with care and clarity.

Kathryn joined Wilhelm Family Law in 2020 after completing her law degree at Western University, where she concentrated her studies on family and estate law. That same year, Kathryn completed her collaborative law training, and she now works closely with clients and other professionals to help families reach respectful, sustainable resolutions outside of court. She values the collaborative process for its focus on communication, problem-solving, and preserving family relationships.

Clients appreciate Kathryn’s calm, grounded approach and her ability to provide clear direction during emotionally charged times. Whether assisting with parenting and property issues or guiding clients through wills and estate matters, Kathryn is committed to helping families find balance, stability, and peace of mind.

Kathryn lives in London with her husband, two young children, and several mischievous pets. Outside the office, she enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors with her family.


lindsay neale, Law clerk

Lindsay joined Wilhelm Family Law in October 2021 as a Family, Wills and Estate Law Clerk. She has over ten years of experience working in Family Law and is a graduate of the Law Clerk program at Fanshawe College. Lindsay enjoys assisting our clients through their family law or wills and estates matter. Lindsay excels at clear, concise communication to our clients and is always happy to answer questions.

She loves spending time outdoors at the beach and camping.
